So I'm interning for a non-profit called Forward Montana and so far I've had incredible experiences. I spent the weekend registering voters at the Interchange Festival going on in town. I went to a drag fashion show, a parade, a rally, and a concert and registered supporters and members of the LGBTQ community. It was an incredibly refreshing experience because suddenly I, being both white and straight, was a minority. I gained such an insightful perspective because I believe of course that being straight is not normal, simply common, and I found myself in an environment where my orientation was not common and I loved it. I had so much fun putting in hours for my boss, experiencing new things, and supporting a cause that I truly believe in. #iaminterchange
